Humans of the Commons

Tell your story, elevate your work and connect with others. Humans of the Commons is an interactive listening lounge where you can drop by, get interviewed, and share your story with the rest of the Summit, Creative Commons network and the world.

Stop by the 2nd floor Annex Room any time — no scheduling necessary! Chat with one of our friendly interviewers in English, French, Spanish, Hindi and Malayalam.* With your permission, your story will be recorded and shared under a CC-BY license, so that it can be amplified online and help others learn about the inspiring work you’re doing.

Our goal is to highlight the work Creative Commons network members like you are doing around the world — and create a collection of stories and insights that can be used to inform and strengthen CC’s work going forward.

You can get interviewed in just 20 minutes or less. Or just drop by to relax and listen to stories from others around the world. Learn more at loup.design/commons.

Questions? Contact us at humans@loup.design.

* Hindi and Malayalam interviews are available Saturday from 11:45am–12:45pm and 1:30–3:30pm, and Sunday from 11:45am–12:40pm and 2:00–5:30pm.

Then you should know about eCampusOntario, a not-for-profit, government funded consortium representing all 45 colleges and universities in the province.

April 2018 marks the beginning of eCampusOntario’s new three-year Strategic Plan, one that supports member institutions in exploring new ways of thinking open when it comes to online and technology-enabled teaching and learning. The Plan is focused on three key strategies:

  1. Lead through open and collaborative practices,
  2. Build capacity through shared and collaborative services, and,
  3. Inspire innovation through investment in research and development.

Join Lena Patterson, Senior Director of Programs and Stakeholder Relations, as she outlines current and future eCampusOntario initiatives. We welcome Ontario delegates to attend this session to preview our open and collaborative educational technology programs and services.

Commons People Party
Celebrate our rare time together at Summit with an evening of drinks, conversation, visuals, music, and more at Boxcar Social's gorgeous Harbourfront location (which includes a patio overlooking Lake Ontario). The evening's playlist will feature openly licensed music selected by the Free Music Archive, Dublab, Tribe of Noise and members of the CC community from all around the globe. There will be a drawing/coloring station and we'll be screening scenes from Vincent Moon's new film Híbridos throughout the evening. If history is any indication, the night will culminate in a ridiculous dance party—so wear something you can move in.
