I’m the Government Information Librarian for State, Local and International Documents at Stanford's Green Library.  I’ve been wrangling government information for the past 15 years in academic libraries.  I collect publications, data, even some records for these jurisdictions and provide research and instruction support in the use of these collections.  I am also involved in web archiving of state and local government information, notably the CA.gov and Bay Area Governments Web Archive. I’m one of the founding members of Free State Government Information, a group advocating for public domain designation and use of Creative Commons licenses for state and local government information, http://stategov.freegovinfo.info/ . I’m also involved in a variety of civic engagement efforts on campus.
