SDGs, OER, and OEP - A World of Acronyms for Open Global Education

Jenni Hayman and Werner Westermann
In this active 60-minute workshop, participants will learn about Canadian and Chilean open textbook and learning design projects related to the 2030 Agenda and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Participants will also get to work reviewing the 17 Goals (including targets and indicators), selecting a topic of interest, and curating open educational resources (OER) for teaching and learning related to their topic. Highly motivated participants may also be able to use open educational practices (OEP) to build handouts, infographics, mini-modules, or small-scale learning objects to teach others about their topic of interest.
