CC advocates shouldn’t unintentionally act as “copyright cops”, reinforcing the idea that only licensed uses are “safe” because  this unnecessarily skews what OER covers and how it is taught.

Core copyright limitations like  quotation, fair dealing, and fair use cover some uses of third party materials in OER.  This session will focus on 3-4 specific use cases where images, excerpts, and other material would be included in an OER and discuss why these could still be included in an otherwise-CC licensed OER without reducing its global reach.
