In a scholarly communications ecosystem dominated by large commercial publishers, library publishing services are important sites of resistance where academic communities can explore ways of creating and sharing knowledge outside of profit-driven economic models. This three-speaker panel will explore how the University of Alberta Libraries’ journal publishing program has led to greater community support and development, using the journal Evidence Based Library and Information Practice as a case study.
