Scientific knowledge from the Global South is very much underrepresented  in the collective scientific output worldwide. This is not different for Open Access publishing. DOAJ ambassadors worldwide  have been educating publishers from their region on Good Open Access publishing practices based on DOAJ criteria and on the use of CC licenses. I By building  local CC communities in cooperation with the CC organization the DOAJ programme can further improve the quality of publishing in the global south and act against the Northern dominance in knowledge sharing.
