Amanda Wakaruk is the Copyright Librarian at the University of Alberta. She completed her Master’s in Library and Information Studies at the UofA in 1999 and worked in public, special, and academic libraries in Edmonton, Virginia, and Toronto before returning to Alberta after the completion of her master’s in Environmental Studies in 2009. Amanda’s previous work as a Government Information Librarian included serving as the founding chair of the award-winning Canadian Government Information Digital Preservation Network. Her research interests related to the precarity of born digital government information and its copyright-related stewardship complications inspire her current work.
